Abstract

Growth in DMEM supplemented with FBS and antibiotics

Steps

1.

Medium: To maintain HeLa cells, grow in Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium supplemented with 10% FBS and 1x Pen-strep. Grow in a sterile incubator at 37 C and 5% CO2. Cells double roughly every 24 H. Grow on standard tissue culture-treated plasticware

2.

Splitting instructions: Split 1:4 on Mondays and Wednesday, and 1:8 on Fridays. Split no more than 1:8.
