Abstract
Mice Survival Analysis
Steps
Survival Analysis
1.
Registerall births and follow the cohort of animals throughout their lifespan.
2.
Report all natural deaths in the followed cohort.
3.
Register all animals used for experimental purposes as censored animals, and do not include them in future follow-ups. It is important that the animals chosen for experimental purposes are selected randomly to avoid potential bias in the survival analysis due to biased censoring.
4.
When all survival data has been collected, either as censoring events or as natural deaths, perform the log-rank test and the Gehan-Breslow-Wilcoxon test to assess whether there are differences in survival between distinct groups.
