Abstract
This protocol outlines the steps to perform an Ovariectomy in a mouse
Steps
1.
Anesthetize the mouse with Ketamine ( 100µL / 100g )
2.
Apply eye ointment
3.
Shave and disinfect the area below the ribs
4.
Disinfect the surgical tools
5. 
Place the mouse on the side
6. 
Align 2 tweezers with the arms/legs and use the crossing point as a reference for the
incision
7. 
Perform a small incision and pull out the fat/ovary
8. 
Clamp right below and above the ovary
9. 
Remove the ovary
10.
Suture both the inner and out layers
11. 
Disinfect the suture with antibiotic ointment
