Abstract
Novel Object Recognition Test for mice
Steps
1.
Individualize each mouse in a different cage with new bedding.
2.
Expose the animal to two identical objects for habituation.
3.
After 24h change one of the two objects for a new one.
4.
Measure the time the animal spends exploring the new object and the old
object.
5.
Calculate the discrimination index using the formula: [time exploring the
new object-time exploring the familiar object]/total time).
